RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE  2017

2015 Rolling Hills Chardonnay

Nannup Ridge Rolling Hills Chardonnay 2015 ($32)

This is a classy chardonnay from the Blackwood. There is a steely tread through the light melon and subtle nuttiness of the palate that I really like. Lively and precise palate with a sustained and impressive finish. This is a most promising wine that points to some exciting things from this small producer with its white varieties.

2014 Rolling Hills Cabernet Sauvignon

Nannup Ridge Rolling Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 ($32)

Excellent medium bodied and most stylish cabernet from the Blackwood. It shows what this underrated region can really deliver. Red fruits with a lifted of scented cedar o those nose. The palate has a grainy sinewy thread but with a deep intensity f that medium weight fruit. Balanced and poised on the finish.

RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2016

Nannup Ridge Senor tempranillo 2013 ($27)

Medium-bodied, dry aromatic tempranillo capturing the essential varietal elements of this classic Spanish grape. Loaded with red berry flavours with a fine tannin and lightly applied dusty oak influence enhancing that dry finish. The sweet fruit in the middle palate makes for very enjoyable drinking.

SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 5 years

Nannup Ridge cabernet sauvignon 2012 ($30)

This is an impressive cabernet from a largely underrated region. It’s more medium weight with good concentration of blackcurrant and leafy minerally fruit characters. I like the keen acidity which focused the palate to a long finish. Nice oak and tannin balance.

SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 10 years
