Vineyard 28

best drinking summer wine

RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2017

Vineyard 28 Arneis 2016 ($22)

Fragrant and beautifully aromatic variety that these are doing really well. I think this is the best one they have release. There is an intensity and fruit flavour that probably reflects the mature vines and a good year. Juicy dry finish with a crisp acidity sustaining the spicy pear and citrus characters.

 Nebbiolo by Vineyard 28

Vineyard 28 Nebbiolo 2015 ($22)

This can be a tricky variety to manage in the vineyard and the winery, yet these guys have pretty much nailed it. In particular the tannins are well managed. The palate has a beautiful medium bodied dry savouriness with spices and light raspberry cherry characters. Dry finish is perfect for food.

RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2016

Vineyard 28 nebbiolo 2013 ($20)

This can be a difficult variety to manage but this has been done well. Pale crimson colour. A feature of this light to medium-bodied nebbiolo is the management
of the tannins, which is an important part of creating a drinkable wine from this tricky variety. Cherry and slightly confectionery characters with a vanillin oak sweetness
balancing the dry savouriness.

Nice long finish.

Vineyard 28 arneis 2015 ($22)

This has become something of a benchmark variety for Vineyard 28. Crunchy and juicy with a vibrant tropical fruit balanced by a crisp piercing acidity. Lots of passionfruit in there with a delicious sweet fruit character that finishes dry.

Really good current drinking.
