RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2017

Rosenthal Richings Chardonnay 2015 ($42)

So much to like about this beautiful presented chardonnay. Bouquet of nectarine and lemon blossom with a slice of white peach complexity. Into the palate some quite beautiful flavours are released with depth and power carrying through to a sustained finish. Textural and rich.

Rosenthal Richings Shiraz 2014 ($42)

A most impressive example of a cool climate Pemberton shiraz. Soft and generous with plenty of mulberry and sappy plum fruit flavours. Liberal spices with some subtle toasty oak add another layer of interest. IT’s more in the medium weight category with those gravelly loam character working through the palate. Nice wine, that’s gone up a notch or two in the past year.

Rosenthal Richings chardonnay 2014 ($38)

An immediately complex aroma really sets this excellent wine up. Nectarine and roasted cashew with some lemon and stone fruit nuances strike at the outset. The palate has a restrained control that focuses on a long finish. Deep and intense with excellent fruit concentration held with a minerally finish.

SCORE 93/100 CELLAR 6 years
