Xabregas X Figtree Riesling 2014 ($40)

Best of the West 2016 – Riesling

Really beautiful Riesling, this. It’s dry tending towards medium but the balance and the purity of that minerally fruit is such that it has a beautiful dry, clean and crisp mouthfeel. One of the very best Rieslings yet from Xabregas. Spicy citrus with some nice delicate bath salts influences.

Cracking good wine.

Xabregas shiraz 2012 ($25)

Signature cooler Great Southern shiraz here with a liberally white pepper influence on the dusty savoury fruit. The palate has an underlay of ripe medium-bodied plummy fruit flavours with a decent dusty coating. A fairly rustic wine for short-term drinking.
