A light bodied and quite restrained chardonnay in the more modern style. The nose shows some light creamy nutty mealy characters. The palate is tightly held with some subtle oak and a crisp sustaining acid A little spicy minerality adds a lingering touch.
There’s plenty of insistent cabernet packed into this richly textured and lavish expression of the variety. Aromas of black olive, crush herbs and a deep chocolaty blackcurrant are engaging. The palate is deep and luxurious with plush tannins and oak creating a carpet of rich fruit flavour. Well balanced.
Peccavi cabernet sauvignon 2012 ($68)
Most impressive cabernet from these northern vineyards of Margaret River. There is a leafy savoury character that is most attractive. The little edge of black olive and tobacco leaf add further interest. Deep and penetrating palate with a long concentrated finish. This is an excellent wine of balance and elegance.
