RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2017

Jane Brook Shovelgate Vineyard Chardonnay 2013 ($29)

This comes from the Shovelgate Vineyard down at Margaret River. It’s a light bodied chardie but will excellent and distinctive minerally lines. There’s a little spicy citrus character with a neat working of the oak into the fruit. Touch of restrained stone fruit white peach and a final splash of citrus competes the picture.

Jane Brook Shovelgate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 ($29)

Leafy black currant and a sliver of black olive on the nose make a statement that this is Margaret River. It’s a medium to full bodied wine with sinewy savoury tannins and a little chocolaty character with those rich blackcurrant flavours. Dry firmish finish. Got a few years in it.
