RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2017

Oakover Wines White Label Cabernet Merlot 2014 ($13)

Sourced from Margaret River. Got all the Margs goodies in it with blackcurrant and ripe plummy fruit. A lick of oak and solid tannins support it. Remains fruit driven and juicy and ideal for current value for money drinking.

Score: 86/100    Cellar: Drink now.

Clockwork Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2015 ($20)

A precise and exquisitely correct interpretation of the WA style. Loaded with gooseberry and tropical fruits with a splash of lemon and a little grassy edginess. The fruit is sourced from Pemberton where savvy in particular does really well. Nice wine.

Score: 92/100    Cellar: 3 years

Oakover Wines Clockwork vermentino 2015 ($29)

A tidy little vermentino showing all of that understated subtle fruit character you expect from this increasingly popular variety in Australia. Spicy pear aromas and a
lightly fruity yet crisp and dry palate. Ideal wine for current drinking.

SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 2 years

Oakover Wines White Label sauvignon blanc semillon 2015 ($12)

This lightly framed blend is sourced from Pemberton. It’s a mighty good wine for this price. Plenty of tropical fruit with a decent splash of lemon and subtle grassy,
gooseberry elements. Clean and fresh with a fine acidity sustaining a tidy finish.
