Two lovers of wine, one from the west and one from the east, determined to find, package and present the wine they love in the way they love it.

One with the surname Byron, the other with the given name Harold; two gentlemen, really, in the true sense of the word, but with a secret admiration for the 19th century English poet who in his day was regarded as ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know.’

Paul Byron and Harold (Ralph) Dunning have joined forces with business specialist and vigneron Andrew Lane and wine maker, Luke Eckersley, to seamlessly deliver the highest quality wines and service to the wine drinker of today.

After more than a lifetime of combined experience in the Australian wine trade, they seek out those parcels of wine that they believe Australian wine lovers really want to drink. Wines with flavour, wines that are true to their variety – wines with provenance.

The origin of Rockcliffe was an 18 acre expanse of apple orchards planted early in the 1900’s in the rich Scotsdale Valley region in the Great Southern, West Australia. In the late 1980’s a local family acquired the property for its fertile soils and perfect positioning and commenced the planting of a dry grown vineyard. The Rockcliffe vineyard is less than 15kms from the Southern Ocean. Long afternoon sunshine and cool ocean breezes create the ultimate conditions for the slow ripening, cool climate styles that symbolize the Great Southern.
