About Fishbone

Fishbone Wines offers a unique wining and dining experience, in the heart of Margaret River.

Its symbol, the Fishbone, represents the wineries philosophy of winemaking; stripped bare of all pretension to produce wines of quality and style. Fishbone offers a variety of styles that reflect the diversity within the Frankland River, Margaret River and Blackwood appellations.

Having just opened its doors in December 2015, Fishbone Wines offers a large varietal of wines on tasting to suit everyone’s palette, as well as a modest chic Japanese dining experience.

Fishbone Wines is located opposite the Margaret River Chocolate Factory on Harmans Mill Road and are open daily 10am – 5pm. Drop by for a tasting at the cellar door or take a seat on the terrace and enjoy a glass of wine or a freshly poured pint and a plate of freshly made sushi. If you can’t stop by for long, sushi-to-go and chilled wine is available to take away with you.

Winemaker Stuart Pierce has been with Fishbone since 2005 and during this time has finessed the range and firmly stamped his own winemaking style on the wines.

Working closely with the local growers, Stuart is very hands on in the vineyard and winery ensuring varietal expressive wines, typical of the region.

Stuart draws his knowledge from vintages in France and South Africa as well as his time as an Assistant winemaker for Grosset in the Clare Valley.

Stuart has received an array of accolades for his wines including the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy in 2010.


Fishbone source fruit from select vineyards throughout the Margaret River, Geographe and Great Southern regions.

Having created relationships with key growers over the years, Stuart and the winemaking team are hands on in the vineyards as well as the winery.

This understanding and attention to quality in the vineyard is reflected in the wines they are produced from.
