Garry Capelli and Leanne Rogers purchased the 16-year-old vineyard in 2005 and have since created and branded The Lake House Denmark to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Great Southern. They incorporate biodynamic principles and have developed three tiers of wines; the flagship Premium Reserve Lake House Denmark range, The Lake House Denmark Postcard series and the fun and quirky He Said She Said range

The Lake House Denmark is a family owned cellar door, restaurant, function venue, gourmet food emporium and winery located in Denmark, Western Australia. Our property is 91.5 acres and consists of 13 acres of established vineyards (planted in 1995) with varieties including pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, semillon and marsenne. We also have a biodynamic vegetable garden and orchard which provides some of the fresh produce used in the restaurant.

Our philosophy is to share and enjoy the simple wholesome pleasures of life. The food that we serve at our restaurant and our Vinofood products reflect this philosophy. We use fresh, local and organic produce wherever possible and have developed a mouth-watering selection of gourmet treats to suit every taste.

The Lake House Denmark has a strong passion for gourmet food and hand crafted premium wine and deeply cares about the quality of the experience that our customers encounter when visiting our cellar door and restaurant.

Some of the most powerful anti-oxidents in nature are found in grapes and grape seed oil. Our wine spa products harness the amazing qualities of grape seed oil and extract in a range of natural body and bath products which can do wonders for your skin.

The antioxidants in grape seed oil are called procyanidolic oligomers (PCO’s),and are more powerful than vitamin C and vitamin E.

Grape seed oil is made by cold-pressing the grape seeds, after they have been used to make wine. The oil is rich in vitamins, minerals and protein, and contains antioxidants called polyphenols. Polyphenols can help slow the process of aging, as well as having anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.

Grape seed oil contains a high amount of linoleic acid, which is a fatty acid essential for the health of the skin and cell membranes. This is the reason why it makes such a wonderful moisturizer, as it really nourishes your skin, helping keep it smooth and subtle.

The benefit of grapeseed oil is its ability to be easily absorbed into the skin, instead of sitting on top of the skin. This helps fight free radicals and stop some of the enzymes that destroy collagen, elastin and other connective tissue.

As we age, our bodies produce less and less collagen, which is the cause of fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes. So, it makes sense to use a natural oil like grape seed to help beat the aging process, and keep you looking younger.

GARRY CAPELLI, OWNER/MANAGING DIRECTOR/VIGNERON

With a background in architecture, marketing, design, business planning and development and leadership training, Garry left Perth in 2005 to live in the country (and go back to his country roots, he was born in Kalgoorlie) and start a new life and business adventure. Without any previous experience running a vineyard or making wine Garry set about learning all he could about the wine industry with the aim to produce high quality wines that capture the richness of the region.

Nowadays, Garry has a very active interest working with the viticulturists in the vineyard and the winemakers at the winery to ensure that only the highest quality wine is bottled for your drinking pleasure.

Garry is a big picture, strategic thinker and knows that it is easier to build a future if you have a jigsaw top to work with. With this knowledge Garry has been able to use his expertise and experience to build a successful business and a strong, well respected national wine brand.


LEANNE ROGERS, OWNER/CEO

Leanne joined Garry on his country adventure, and has had a very hands-on role in the growth of The Lake House Denmark. With a career in retail and finance Leanne used her skills plus her love of ‘making things’ to develop and evolve the business. Her passion for ‘doing everything’ has seen her work in all aspects of the business from hand-crushing fruit, spraying the vineyard with biodynamic preparations, running the cellar door and restaurant, as well as a ‘chef’ in the kitchen. She has also created and developed the recipes and look and feel of our Vinofood and WineSpa ranges.

As CEO, Leanne oversees the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the business, including the continued growth and development of The Lake House Denmark, Vinofood and WineSpa products.
