Bunkers Margaret River Wines

Bunkers Margaret River Wines

Bunkers takes its name from the spectacular Bunker Bay, the pristine beauty on the tip of Cape Naturaliste. Bunkers brings together surfing and wine, two of the region’s greatest passions. Lefthanders, Honeycombs, Windmills, Guillotines, Bears and The Box make up the Bunkers range. Each wine is a reflection of its namesake Margaret River surf break.

Bunkers The Box tempranillo 2013 ($20)

Captures the essence of this Spanish variety really well. Spicy fruit notes with some nice plum and dark cherry characters. Like the sustained palate with its lifted medium-bodied characters. Nice wine for current drinking which has benefited from a little more bottle maturation. Drinking really well.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 3 Years

Bunkers Sparkling NV ($25)

Designed as a fresh and fruity sparkling wine. There is good precision and definition here with the fruit held by that crisp acid. Has a little subtle tropical character and some slightly toasty nuances. It’s a nice aperitif wine
SCORE 88/100 CELLAR 3 years

Arlewood sauvignon blanc semillon 2016 ($22)

Bursting with pungent ripe tropical fruit. There’s a decent hit of passionfruit pulp and loads of other tropical goodies making for an enticing opening. The palate is loaded with vibrant crunchy fruit lifted with a crunch acidity. Has a slightly flinty character on the finish.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 4 years
