Lenton Brae The Horns sauvignon blanc 2016 ($24)

This comes from an exciting biodynamic vineyard (hence the name “Horns”) and there has been no added acid or enzyme and it hasn’t been filtered. The result is a really interesting wine with wonderful texture and mouthfeel which absolutely sings in the mouth with so much flavour and controlled structure. Really promising wine.

Lenton Brae semillon sauvignon blanc 2016 ($22)

Consistently one of the best examples of this blend. I suppose it should be as they have been making it for 30 consecutive vintages. Shows once again that texture and palate completeness which have stamped the Lenton Brae style. These are deceptive wines in that they can cellar for some years but as always they drink so well as youngsters.

Lenton Brae Southside chardonnay 2015 ($26)

A light-bodied chardonnay displaying excellent fruit presentation. Grapefruit and lemon zestiness on the nose with a minerality that strikes immediately. The palate is well structured with an understated use of oak to sit harmoniously with the fruit. Lightly creamy with persistent intensity.

Lenton Brae Wilyabrup chardonnay 2014 ($60)

Winemaker Ed Tomlinson has worked plenty into this excellent estate-grown chardonnay. All wild yeasts with a mix of new and old French oak. Has delightful spicy mineral characters. The palate is intense with a mealy cereal cashew character, with a trace of brioche. It’s a classy wine.

Lenton Brae cabernet merlot 2015 ($26)

Always hits the mark for this style of wine. The combination works so well with a leafy blackcurrant aroma showing just a small amount of mintiness. The palate is medium weight with well integrated tannins and oak. Grainy tannins extend to the long finish.
