Millbrook sauvignon blanc 2016 ($22)

This is another absolutely beautiful savvy from Millbrook made from fruit sourced from Margaret River. Loaded with crunchy tropical fruit splashed liberally with passionfruit and juicy lemon. Has a beautiful purity with a fine persistency sustained by crisp delicate acidity. Crisp and dry finish.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 3 Years

Millbrook LR chardonnay 2014 ($45)

Gosh, this is an exceptional chardonnay. It’s sourced from the Smithbrook vineyard down at Pemberton. Wonderful aromas of nectarine, meal and stone fruit. It’s a highly textural wine with layers of flavour built with excellent fruit and quality oak, well managed. Creamy and deep with a very long precise finish.

Millbrook Estate viognier 2016 ($35)

Millbrook has been one of the few champions of this variety in Australia and consistently produces exceptional wines. This one shows a degree of restraint but there is still plenty happening in there. Stone fruit with ginger and apricot add a distinctive orange blossom. The palate is held with a minerally acidity and dash of citrus that keeps it focused and long.

Millbrook grenache shiraz mourvedre 2015 ($22)

The fruit for this substantial and juicy red blend comes from Geographe, which seems to suit this style of wine perfectly. Generous with savoury and slightly sinewy tannins. The oak has been well managed with only used puncheons so as not to intrude onto the essential fruit qualities.
SCORE 94/100 CELLAR 5 years

Millbrook sangiovese 2015 ($22)

This has such a beautiful varietal character that absolutely captures the best of sangiovese. It’s savoury with a dusty thread working through those beautiful cherry and light raspberry characters. The palate is medium weight with good firmish tannins and understated oak in support. The result is a perfectly formed food wine.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 6 years

Millbrook Estate shiraz viognier 2013 ($35)

One of the very best of this combination of varieties I have tasted from any Australian producer. The feature is the balance between the plump fleshy shiraz with just a dab of viognier that complements rather than dominates as it can. Introduces a lovely aromatic perfume but allows the ripe shiraz to carry the palate. Beautiful wine.
