Moojelup Farm

Moojelup Farm

Moojelup Farm is a boutique winery 8km north of Harvey. It specialises in classic varietals, including shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and semillon. Traditional methods are used in production, including a hand-picked, barrelfermented semillon, and its shiraz and cabernet are open fermented and basket pressed to achieve full-bodied wines. Semillon is especially good.

Moojelup Farm Thompsons Block shiraz 2013 ($22)

There is a highly distinct aroma here with minty peppermint characters strongly evident. The palate is beautifully textured and smooth with ripe tannins and plush fruit. Has a nice smoky savoury character with some appealing sweet fruit characters.
SCORE 89/100 CELLAR 5 Years

Moojelup Farm Thompsons Block cabernet sauvignon 2013 ($18)

This wine has come on rather well over the past 12 months. Plenty of black fruits dominate the nose from the outset. There’s a powerful wave of blackcurrant and dark liqueur chocolate with a trace of jubey confectionery character. The palate is rich and laden with sweet fruit flavours balanced by some nice oak treatment.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 4 years
