Rich and vibrant with walnuts, toffee and spicy fruit with a lifted finish.
Acknowledging the gifts of our ancestors
Aquarius was the star sign of my Father, which he used to christen the houseboat he built. Launched in 1970, the Richmond River at Ballina in NSW has been home her whole life. Along with the endless hours of fun, the Aquarius represents a link to our family past. A gift from the previous generation and a tangible connection to our upbringing.
Raisins and honey here. A Tawny style that is a little reminiscent of the old days where ports were often simply big, sweet reds. But it is certainly a pleasant, if somewhat unsophisticated, fortified. A touch cloying on the finish. Gave it a whirl with a cigar and that went very well. Score: 87/100 Best drinking: now and on.
