Bright crimson red in colour. Aromas of chocolate and cedary oak. The palate is fruit driven with blackberry and plum fruit with hints of chocolate. The tannins are smooth and supple leading to a more-ish finish.
Allegiance Wines has sourced this parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is an excellent example of the outstanding results possible, when an allegiance between growers and winemakers creates their best expression of the varietal and vintage. Drinking great now or cellar potential of 4-5 years.
For me, this is the pick of the Kindred range – the reds all impressed, especially as great value. Blackfruits, cassis, spices and mint. There is a slight varietal herbaceousness. Dark fruits and some chocolate notes. Supple texture and decent length. What more could you want in a wine at this price point? Lovely stuff. Score: 89/100 Best drinking: now for 6 years. Alc: 14%
