Estate 2014 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

INTRO

Pale straw with a green tinge and brilliant clarity. An intricate display of delicate but lifted citrus, lemon and lime aromas with a grassy, passionfruit edge rises out from the glass. A suggestion of lush tropical fruits and a hint of cinnamon oak spice adds extra depth and complexity to lead the consumer into temptation.
The palate is clean and refreshing with a rich full flavour which reflects the nose sensationally. With
great balance, complexity and lovely natural acid, the flavours flow throughout the pallet seamlessly
and finishes with great length and delicate persistence.

Both the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc varieties were picked at optimum ripeness and fermented
separately. Each variety had a few hours skin contact
and a portion of the Sauvignon Blanc was barrel fermented to add further structure, dimension, and
complexity to the wine. To retain the freshness and quality this wine was bottled soon after vintage.

Wine Guide 2016

This excellent blend of semillon and sauvignon gets a small amount of barrel fermentation and it certainly shows with the strong lemony character on the nose. The palate has a lovely mix of elegant fruit with that delicate dab of oak adding complexity and structure. Great drinking over the next few years. CELLAR 5 years
