Evans & Tate Redbrook cabernet sauvignon 2012

In celebration of an exceptional vintage for this noble variety and our home in the heart of the pristine Margaret river wine region. This wine is a testament to our region’s unique character and over 40 years of experience crafting award wining wines.

The 2012 vintage in Margaret River is the sixth consecutive outstanding vintage that the region has experienced. The lead up to vintage was dry and warm with only a couple of very warm spells which the vines handled well and are ideal for tannin maturation in our style of Cabernet Sauvignon

The darker Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon characters are evident in this wine from the exceptional 2012 vintage – fresh blackberry, juicy mulberry and plum with lovely violet perfume and an elegant layer of cedar and freshly toasted savoury spices

The wine has lovely tannin structure which is critical to our style and a hallmark of this noble variety – something that will also put it in good stead for extended cellaring.

Wine Guide 2016

Beautifully poised and presented cabernet. Leafy black olive and tobacco on the nose with a liberal blackcurrant sweet fruitiness in the background. The palate is quite linear and of medium to full body. Such a smooth and seamless integration of tannin and oak supports a focused effortless palate through to its extended finish. SCORE 95/100 CELLAR 10 years

Wine Companion 2016

Highly cellarworthy. Strong fruit and strong tannin. Cassis, gum leaf, smoky oak and gravel. Establishes its credential then settles in for the long, slow haul. It's in dock for now, its tannin coiled, its fruit stacked and stored. It will be many years before we see its best.
