VIGNERON GEORGE HEYDON’S COMMENTS
The wine displays intense and bright purple hues, inviting to the eye.
A rich bouquet of plums, mulberries and rhubarb, is complimented by sophisticated characters of spices, cumin and pepper.
On the palate, silky smooth tannins and drying vanillin oak wrap the luscious fruit, leading to a long and satisfying finish.
An exceptional example of Margaret River shiraz, just entering the drinking window.
Heydon Estate wines are the product of our aged single vineyard estate, located in the prestigious
Wilyabrup sub-region in the heart of the Margaret River appellation.
The fruit for this wine is 96% Shiraz and 4% Viognier from our old blocks of Shiraz and Viognier.
2010 was a terrific vintage for reds with warm days and delightfully cool nights. Such is the quality and balance of our old blocks, full complex flavour development occurs whilst retaining the fruit intensity, classical long acidity and elegance that our wines are renowned for.

Wine Guide 2016
This is a shiraz with plenty of style and poise. It’s been given four per cent viognier to bring a lifted aromatic influence while also adding to the tannin structure. Savoury fruit with dark chocolate and plum infused with a little coffee grind. So smooth and silky with a delicious dry savoury finish. CELLAR 10 years
