Every winemaker at some point in their career must scratch the sado-masochistic itch that is Pinot Noir. The grap variety lends itself to a number of interesting winemaking techniques and allows winemakers to explore some really subtle and complex flavour profiles. We do not pretend for a second that our vineyards in the Perth Hills have a climate cool enough for great Pinot Noir production, so we have headed south to Pemberton for this fruit. We do plan to produce a Pinot Noir in subsequent years to further explore and refine this wine. Enjoy our first attempt at a Pinot Noir.

Another of the wines these guys source from Manjimup and from the first sniff you just know that this move south for some varieties has been a good one. This is terrific. Sour cherry and plum on the nose with a little cedary damp earthy influence. The palate is medium bodied but with a precise lingering acidity sustaining the finish. Really impressive wine that is both pretty and powerful. CELLAR 8 years
