This excellent Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blend is entirely sourced from the original Smithbrook Vineyard planted in 1988. The Sauvignon Blanc is planted largely on well-drained north-facing gravel and is cane-pruned to allow optimal flavour and acid development in this cool region.
The 2014 vintage started out wet and cool but developed into a benevolent white growing season. This allowed the winemaking and viticulture team to pick the fruit in individual batches at optimal ripeness delivering pristine, fresh punchy flavours as juice. These juices were then fermented cool and slowly to best capture the fruit purity and crispness from these excellent grapes. The result is a wine that we are proud to release under the Smithbrook banner which is fresh, zesty and pure and will provide great drinking pleasure over the coming months.
