The Evans & Tate cabernet sauvignon 2012

INTRO

This is a new wine from Evans & Tate that takes its cabernet to a new plane. Superbly crafted wine based on some exceptional fruit from this very good vintage. Typically elegant and stylish with a subtle oak and fruit integration. The tannins are quite chalky and the oak liberal but not overplayed. Really tightly held but that fruit sweetness is clearly evident within.
SCORE 97/100 CELLAR 15 years

Wine Companion 2016

Highly cellarworthy. Strong fruit and strong tannin. Cassis, gum leaf, smoky oak and gravel. Establishes its credential then settles in for the long, slow haul. It's in dock for now, its tannin coiled, its fruit stacked and stored. It will be many years before we see its best.
