What drives the family behind Singlefile is the desire to craft wines at the top of their game, manifest in the Latin motto on Singlefile’s crest – Semper Superne Nitens – which translates to ‘the pursuit of excellence’. The family may be small in numbers, but its dreams are big, fuelled by the passion to produce exceptional Great Southern wines.

Singlefile Single Vineyard Riesling 2015 ($30)

Such a good Riesling, is this. It’s from Mount Barker. There is a bracing tension here with that fine precise acid lancing through the palate to carry a long finish. Spicy and minerally with a fine limey infusion. So much persistent intensity for such a light-bodied, almost delicate wine. A beauty.
SCORE 94/100 CELLAR 10 years

Singlefile Estate Pemberton Fume Blanc 2015 ($30)

The use of French oak, including a small amount of new oak, has given this savvy a whole different view of life. It has texture and richness on the palate but the crisp minerally acidity holds it to a tight lingering finish. A complete wine offering tremendous drinking now or over the next few years.
SCORE 93/100 CELLAR 5 years

Singlefile Estate Pemberton pinot gris 2015 ($30)

This has been given a little French oak and lees treatment to develop additional richness and depth of fruit as you might expect with this style from France. Strikes a perfect balance with crisp lively fruit showing citrus tang and lively spicy pear and apple crumble with a faint hint of lychee.
SCORE 93/100 CELLAR 5 years

Singlefile Estate Family Reserve chardonnay 2015 ($50)

A thrilling example of Great Southern chardonnay that ranks right at the top of the tree in WA. Such a complex maze of aromas on the nose with meal and subtle understated grapefruit, cashew and light stone fruit. The palate is keenly focused with deep layers of flavours held with precision and clarity. Nice subtle hint of lees and toasty oak on the finish.
SCORE 96/100 CELLAR 7 years

Singlefile Estate Single vineyard Frankland River cabernet sauvignon 2014 ($37)

Cracking good wine that amply demonstrates the qualities of Frankland as a cabernet region. Loads of deep dark fruit displaying typical Frankland juiciness and plushness. Yet there is structure and poise here with firmish tannins and well played oak. Great depth and power.
SCORE 95/100 CELLAR 15 years
