Swings & Roundabouts sauvignon blanc semillon 2016 ($24)

Quite a textural and friendly expression of this blend. Tropical fruit laced with crisp lemon and grassy characters provide an appealing textured palate. Clean long lines through to the finish. Excellent drinking in the next few years.
SCORE 89/100 CELLAR 3 Years

Swings & Roundabouts cabernet merlot 2014 ($24)

A substantial statement of this vintage. Ripe blackcurrant fruit with some edgier black olive and leafy tobacco characters. The palate has a sinewy tannin feel with a little oak influence. Deep and chocolaty with loads of persistence. A real crowd pleaser.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 5 years

Swings & Roundabouts shiraz 2014 ($24)

A neat mix between savoury oak and sweet plump plummy fruit. Has a dry savoury tannin influence cutting through the spicy and slightly earthy gravelly fruit characters. Balanced with cedary oak. A nice wine for drinking over the next few years.
SCORE 89/100 CELLAR 5 years

Swings & Roundabouts Backyard Stories rosé 2015 ($34)

A really interesting rosé. It’s largely sangiovese but a small amount of barrel-aged pinot noir was added to create a richer base to the wine. It also gets a little oak. The result is a light-bodied yet flavoursome wine with poise and fine control. Finishes dry.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 5 years

Swings & Roundabouts Backyard Stories chardonnay 2015 ($39)

These chardonnays have been gradually improving in recent years and this is another excellent wine. Has a minerally roasted cashew aroma with those subtle white peach and grapefruit edges. It’s still rather tight at tasting but has a terrific drive through the palate. Crunchy mealy character emerges with breathing.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 8 years
