Voyager Estate chenin blanc 2015 ($20)

Crisp and fruity aromatic white wine that punches out plenty of appealing flavours. It’s loaded with those lovely tropical characters of this variety with a fine crisp acidity that rolls through to the long finish. Simple and delicious and ready to drink.

Voyager Estate sauvignon blanc semillon 2015 ($24)

Opens with a cute herbaceous and lightly tropical aroma that is so distinctive of this blend from this region. Palate is delicate with a beautiful balance of these two varieties held with crisp fine acid. Plenty of depth and persistence and an excellent mouthfeel. A light touch of oak contributes to lifting it out of the norm for the style.

Voyager Estate chardonnay 2013 ($45)

The Voyager style is generally one of delicacy and refinement. Yet the mature vines have the capacity to pump out fruit intensity and this excellently structured and finessed wine shows just that. Neat infusion of oak works well. Light stone fruit nectarine and a little tart pear with some nutty cereal-like characters. Really well presented wine.

Voyager Estate shiraz 2014 ($38)

I was looking forward to seeing this 2014 wine from Voyager. I just had an idea that it was going to be special – well it is. Perfumed aromas of cedar and light white pepper with some neat crush herb influence. The palate is beautifully poised and medium weight with a great tannin and oak balance to hold the fruit so gently. Bright and with so much palate energy. Excellent.

Voyager Estate Girt by Sea cabernet merlot 2014 ($28)

Medium-bodied elegantly structured blend. Minty red berry on the nose strikes with immediate appeal. The palate is really impressive with a perfect balance of fruit oak and tannin. It creates a smooth and velvety feel yet there is a core of firmness that holds the line through to the finish.

Voyager Estate cabernet merlot 2012 ($70)

This is simply one of the best releases from Voyager. The mature vines and a very good vintage have combined to produce something special. Medium to full bodied with elegance and charm oozing from the very long palate. Fine grained oak is well managed and the fully ripe tannins are slightly sinewy to add a sense of purpose and structure.
