RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2016
Fifth Estate shiraz 2011 ($19)
A super ripe shiraz from the Geographe region. Bursting with ripe plum and blueberry fruit and decent lashing of oak. The alcohol is quite high yet it handles it with all that fruit weight and concentrated flavour. Rich fruitcake flesh on the palate with a smoky, charry oak to finish.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 5 years
Fifth Estate tempranillo 2014 ($20)
This is a soft and supple tempranillo with fine, subtle tannins and understated oak playing subordinant roles to the sweet raspberry confection fruit. It’s an appealing
wine for drinking now while those primary fresh fruit characters are so dominant.
SCORE 88/100 CELLAR 2 years
