RAY JORDAN WINE GUIDE 2016
Swooping Magpie semillon sauvignon blanc ($20)
Opens with a pronounced lemony lime zest on the nose with an herbal grassy influence emerging. The palate is a textural combination of these two varieties. There are some nice honey and light fruity characters with a fine lively acidity to finish. Nice wine for current drinking.
SCORE 89/100 CELLAR 2 years
Swooping Magpie Reserve chardonnay 2013 ($25.75)
An immediately rich and creamy expression of this variety but one that retains a fine precise acidity through to its long finish. Mouth filling with texture and palate weight. A rich stone fruit and lightly roasted cashew character with a delicious peachiness.
