Warner Glen

Warner Glen

Headed by partner and viticulturist Glen Harding, the focus for the Warner Glen range is on producing quality wines. The key vineyard is Jindawarra Vineyard, south of Karridale, which currently has 34.6 hectares of vineyard planted. With north-facing slopes and soils with gravelly loams, it is the ideal site for premium and super premium wine grapes. Glen’s plan includes a hands-on approach to vineyard management.

Warner Glen Estate chardonnay 2015 ($20)

This is a pretty smart chardonnay for this price. Loaded with melon stone fruit with a trace of rich butterscotch. The palate is creamy and generous with a controlling acidity sustaining the finish. Really nice subtle oak treatment is a feature.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 3 Years

Frog Belly cabernet sauvignon 2014 ($13)

A fruity and juicy young cabernet from this excellent vintage. Blackcurrant and toasty oak with a lick of dark chocolate. The palate is warm and generous with a sustained finish. Great value.
SCORE 88/100 CELLAR 3 Years

Smokin’ Gun shiraz cabernet merlot 2014 ($10)

An early drinking red wine. It’s medium to light bodied with juicy fruity characters, strong, fruit-driven with supple tannins and subtle oak.
SCORE 86/100 CELLAR 2 Years
