Wignalls Single Vineyard sauvignon blanc 2016 ($19)

Zesty young savvy brimming with passionfruit dominant tropical fruits. There’s a splash of lemon juice to add a little punch. Tight and focused with a long finish. This is tailor made for current quaffing. Loads to like.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 2 years

Wignalls chardonnay 2016 ($18)

This is a bright as a button unoaked chardonnay. I quite like the fact it doesn’t use the word unoaked on the front label. Rather it is simply a chardonnay of a particular style. And I like it a lot. Obviously there is a fruit purity with crunchy melon and creamy stone fruit with a trace of citrus tang.

Wignalls Single Vineyard Premium chardonnay 2015 ($30)

This comes from a very low cropping vineyard and is then naturally fermented with some culture yeast as well. The result is an immediately complex mealy chardonnay with deep flavours of brioche and stone with a little of that roasted cashew complexity. Builds with layers of intensity to a sustained finish.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 5 years

Wignalls shiraz 2015 ($26)

The cool-climate white pepper of shiraz is well to the fore in this excellent shiraz, but not so much as to dominate or detract from the other virtues. The palate is smooth and subtle with lovely texture and fruit intensity. Mix of raspberry and deeper blue fruits makes for a most appealing combination. Very long fine tannin profile.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 6 years

Wignalls Single Vineyard pinot noir 2014 ($32)

This is a very powerful pinot noir. Loads of liqueur cherries and wild red berry characters. The nose has a dark cherry and gamey character to it, while the palate is warm with an appealing sweet fruit lift. Firm tannins and a lick of oak add to the powerful dimensions on the palate.
