Willespie Old School chardonnay 2012 ($30)

This very good chardonnay now has that little extra time in bottle to bring out some rather interesting characters. Butterscotch and vanilla in oak with some delicious peachy nectarine characters. The palate is deep and layered with rich texture. Lovely palate texture is a feature.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 4 Years

Willespie Old School cabernet franc 2009 ($50)

A variety that is generally used as a blend but here we have a cab franc that’s been held in bottle for a number of years before release as a varietal. Leafy and floral with the early stages of secondary development showing on the nose and the soft and supple palate. Fine tannins and subtle oak work in well. Beautiful current drinking with further cellaring potential if required.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 6 years

Willespie shiraz 2009 ($30)

A developed shiraz showing how good this variety is in Margaret River. Dark chocolate and leathery spicy notes emerge on the nose. The palate is generous and supple with nice sinewy tannins still in control. The oak is well managed. Rich and intense through to the long finish.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 6 years
