Willow Bridge Estate

Willow Bridge has quickly been recognised as one of the bright lights on the WA wine scene since being set up in 1996 on a spectacular hillside site in the Ferguson Valley, less than two hours from Perth. Its wines are consistent and top class and during the past couple of years have moved up a gear in consistency and quality. One of the best.

Willow Bridge Dragonfly shiraz 2015 ($20)

Lovely wine that shows the quality of the Geographe region of WA. Aromas of roasted coffee with spicy plum notes. The palate is deep concentration but admirable restraint and poise. Smooth integration of oak and grainy tannins complete an impressive young wine.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 4 Years

Willow Bridge Estate Rosa De Solana tempranillo rosé 2016 ($25)

Tempranillo works so well in Geographe and goes especially well when turned into a light-bodied rosé like this one. Cherry and raspberry nuances with a slightly savoury edge. The palate is light but flavoursome with a crisp dry finish. This is modern rosé and it’s very good.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 3 years

Willow Bridge Estate G1-10 chardonnay 2015 ($30)

This is just about the best chardonnay these guys have made. It’s whole bunch pressed and wild yeast fermented before getting 10 months in oak. The result is impressive. Layered complexity and palate definition with a persistent intensity. Most appealing mouthfeel.
SCORE 95/100 CELLAR 8 years

Willow Bridge Estate Solana tempranillo 2014 ($28)

A wine that really comes to grips with this variety. Aromas of cherry and savoury raspberry with a dustiness that adds some interest. The palate is supple with a thread of sinewy tannins and subtle older oak. Balanced with good definition and palate length.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 5 years

Willow Bridge Estate Coat of Arms cabernet sauvignon 2015 ($30)

Captures many of the essential varietal characteristics of cabernet. Leafy blackcurrant and black olive aroma. The palate has sinewy tannin which are slightly assertive. Concentrated fruit weight with power precision through to the finish.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 8 years
