Woodgate sauvignon blanc semillon 2015 ($22)

This juicy and bright blended white really punches out plenty of zippy flavour from these two varieties. Has a crunchy minerality with good tropical fruit and a splash of lemon. It’s a real crowd pleaser with all those flavours. Ideal for summer drinking.
SCORE 92/100 CELLAR 3 years

Woodgate cabernet franc 2014 ($25)

Here is a cabernet franc which is more than a simple, lighter-bodied aromatic perfume bomb. There’s substance in the medium-bodied palate with good fruit concentration. It is smoothly textured with a seamless weave of tannin and oak. Fine chalky tannins complete the picture for a beautifully drinkable wine.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 5 years

Woodgate merlot 2014 ($25)

An elegantly presented merlot displaying deep fruit and excellent structure. Plummy fruit with the addition of spices and light cedar make for a lovely combination. Sweet fruit in the middle palate balanced by subtle sinewy tannins. There’s a neat balance of meatiness and primary pure fruit. Works well.
SCORE 90/100 CELLAR 6 years

Woodgate tempranillo 2014 ($25)

Impressive tempranillo that has a bit of European-like character to it. It has that savoury sinewy feel in the mouth to balance the fleshy primary fruit. Balanced with good tannin infusion and cleverly weighted oak. The sweet plumpish middle palate finishes with a nice dry dustiness. Obviously, ideal with food.
SCORE 91/100 CELLAR 5 years

Woodgate Reserve shiraz 2014 ($35)

Outstanding shiraz here. It sort of bridges the divide between traditional robust Aussie wines and lighter coolclimate styles by taking the best bits of each. Aromas of peppery spicy plum with a little coffee licorice character. Medium-bodied palate with the sweet fruit balanced by a spicy savouriness. Excellent mouthfeel and a most poised wine.
